I saw Loving Vincent last night in Ann Arbor at the Michigan Theater. It was great! If you like art, Van Gogh or just interested in unique movies, you need to catch this one. It is an oil painted animation which explores the mystery of Vincent Van Gogh's death. The story line is pretty simplistic, but I don't think movie goers are seeing this for the story. It is definitely for the artwork! Over 100 artists worked on the paintings! The story of its making is fascinating. I particularly enjoyed the black and white parts, which are flashbacks and throughout the movie. They seem to give your eye a rest from the brushstroke patterns of the Van Gogh style. Brilliantly done! Be sure to go when it is in your area!
